Yongqing Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Jiayin Basin. The Yongqing Formation was named by Sui Liancheng et al. (1981). It is limited in the Yiwuling District of Yichun City.
Lithology and Thickness
The Yongqing Formation is a group of volcanic clastic and sedimentary rocks. It is composed of yellowish brown, grayish white tuffaceous breccias, tuffaceous sandstone, grayish black tuffaceous mudstone and feldspar sandstone. It is 26-434 m thick in different localities.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The formation unconformably overlies the Ganhe Fm or the Banzifang Fm; or the Meifeng Fm (as shown in the Jianyin column by Kosenko et al. (2021). [Note: the publications provided when compiling this entry were confusing.]
Upper contact
The top of the formation is shown as a discontinuity contact under the Fuminhe Fm volcanics.

Fossils
Spore and pollen yield in the grayish black tuffaceous mudstone. They are gymnosperm Pinuspollenites, P. elongatus, Abietineaepollenite, Piceaepollenites, Piceites, Pinites, Parvisaccites, Keteleeria, Cedripites, Podocarpidites; Fern spore Deltoidospora hallii, Hsuisporites rugatus, Gleicheniidites senonicus, Densosisporites perinatus, Lycopdiumsporites ausyroclavatidites, Schizaeoisporites certus, Cicatricosisporites dorogensis.
